I do have CC/mods in my game. The crashing happens totally randomly. Build/Buy, Live Mode, everything but CAS. There's no one particular instance when it happens repeatedly. I'm trying to do some testing removing some files out of my Mods folder because I was having an issue with my Retail stores, but I can't seem to replicate the issue. It just seems to happen when it happens. First, my computer's fan will really start going, then all of a sudden it crashes.
@AkennArt Retail store issues could a current bug with owned retail (there should be report in Bug Reports ), but your crashing sounds different. Test a new game in a clean folder to see if it's an issue with mods or your save or might be something needing technical support:
- Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
- Open a new game and play for a while to see if the crashing recurs.
- If it does, head over for Mac technical support.
- If it doesn't recur, try copying your previous save into the new Saves folder and play that awhile. This should help ID if it's specific to your save or was a result of something in the Mods folder.

I received my new computer, and transferred all my Sims 4 files over and everything seemed to have worked. I open the game and it was moving really slow. I lower the graphics thinking that's the issue, but it just moves slower and slower. Now it's back to crashing again. I now have a 2023 Mac Mini Apple M2 Pro updated to macOS Ventura 13.5. I'm at my wits end with this game constantly crashing on me! I'm doing the 50/50 methods as i do use mods, and it won't replicate the issue when I do so. It only crashes when all my mods are in, but I can't identify any particular mod or cc that is causing it. Is there any possible way to look at my save file itself to see if the issue lies there? Can a crash report determine what the issue is? I don't know what else to you here. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can give.

I repaired my game, I created a new Sims 4 folder like you suggested, and then “Unrecognized Video Card” popped up when I loaded up the game (attached). Should my graphics be set up a certain way on my Mac? I also did this as suggested in another related thread:
Origin in System Preferences/Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access? Now I loaded the game again and it just froze on the loading screen in between swiping between the words and the plumbob had disappeared, so essentially after creating a new Sims 4 folder, the game won’t load. @AkennArt Do you have any last exception files? I'd suggest, though, checking the lists in Broken/Updated Mods and then doing a test after that, in batches. A folder refresh can't hurt either, for accumulated glitches: Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options. Copy back in only the contents of old folders, but not any files that the game has made new.

Yes, I’m currently saving lots to my library to prepare to move them a new save file. In doing so, I am getting exceptions with Better Exceptions and deleting whatever issues it pulls as they come up.
I have done the Sims 4 folder reset about 2-3 times now and each time I do it I am unable to load back into my game. I did it last night and eventually had to delete the entire EA folder and transfer a copy of my entire EA folder (from when I changed computers) back to my Documents folder because nothing was working. I just went through the outdated mods page for the umpteenth time earlier today, and I maybe only found one thing that had changed since the last time I was on there about a week ago.
’I don’t know if it’s possible for save files to get corrupted. I’ve had this save file for exactly two years now, since i started playing Sims 4. It’s just issue after issue every month now and I’m wondering if it’s even still salvageable. It really sucks to start all over after all the lore I’ve created, but I’ve done all these same “reset” suggestions multiple times, and still issues arise.

I have literally tried everything to address this issue over the last three weeks. I have cleared the cache files in my Sims 4 folder, done two Origin resets to clear its cache, and cleared the cache in my Mac computer by doing a Safe Mode start. I've done the 50/50 method on my mods 4-5 times now, I've reset my Sims 4 folder 2 times, I have repaired the game countless times (although I hear it's not very helpful on Mac), I even did a Save As on my save file just last night to generate a new save file. I am even going through each item of my CAS cc in Sims4Studio to try to identify broken cc one piece at a time, and yet my game continues to crash. Can my crash report below be read and deciphered so I can at least know what is causing the issue? At this point, I can't tell if the game is the problem or if my computer specs are the issue. I even called Apple support to try to get help, but they only referred me to EA support because it is a third party platform. I can't find a direct phone number to call EA support; I am instead led back to these forums. Does this crash report say anything about the issue? I can no longer play this game and might have to look into getting a refund for it because I cannot use it at all anymore. Today, it played for over an hour then it crashed. I went back in and it played for less than an hour and crashed again. Went back in three more times and it crashed in less than 2 minutes each time. Also, the crashing ONLY occurs in Live Mode. I built a Funeral Home yesterday and spent 3-4 hours on it (in BuildBuy mode) and it didn't crash. I created a new sim a few days ago in CAS, spent over 2 hours on it and it didn't crash. All I have to go on are these crash reports since it crashes before any Last Exceptions can be thrown. If this can even be raised to a developer, that would be very helpful. I'm told they would be able to provide a walk-through to get to the bottom of this type of issue.
I am on a 2023 Mac Mini Pro updated to the latest OS version.
