Thanks for the tip, cycled through my mods and it seems MCCC is causing an issue. Don't know how, or why, but when I have it active dueling becomes genuinely random with very little chance of victory even with the final magic perk in the dueling tree. Without the mod, however, chances of winning are greatly improved.

@Halatma Moving this to tech then. Maybe tehre's some setting that alters the changes ?
