Sim still stuck after resetting sim

My sims keep getting stuck, the actions aren’t processing and she’s just stuck. I have MCCC and used that to reset my sim which it stops what she’s doing when she crashes (drinking a plasma pack) but it still won’t allow her to carry on with the actions that I’ve clicked her to do. I have a sim at work and they are stuck there too 🙈

I have repaired game files, updated, uninstalled and reinstalled and taken mods and cc out and added them back in to see if it’s a broken mod/cc. Still no luck.

I’ve also seen on forums that there was an issue before eco lifestyle came out games were crashing but mine literally did this last week.

Anyone got any tips? Thank youuuuu

    @wellaxo, you can always try cheats to reset your Sims who are stuck.  There are 2 you can use:
    The first one:
    1) bring up the cheat box (on a PC press Ctrl + Shift + C and then press Enter)
    2) in the cheat box type resetsim "FirstName" "LastName" and press Enter.  So for example, if your Sim was Bella Goth, you would type resetsim Bella Goth and then press Enter. 🙂

    The second one:

    1) bring up the cheat box like in the instructions above
    2) in the cheat box type testingcheats on and press Enter (you should get a message that the cheat is active)
    3) with the Sims that needs to be reset being the active Sim, Shift-click on the Sim and choose Reset Object (DEBUG) from the pie menu that pops up
    4) turn testing cheats off by typing the cheat box tesintcheats off and press Enter. 😉

    This should reset your Sim if it is just a glitch in the Sim, household/lot, or save game file.🙂  But if your Mods or CC are causing the problem, you will need to test to see if they are the problem and then which one or ones are the problem. 😞 Then you will need to get the latest version of the Mod or CC that is the culprit as it is probably out of date!  Mods/CC can become out of date any time EA releases a patch to the game like they did a few days ago! 😉 Good Mods and CC creators will update their creations to fit the latest EA patches, so you will need to delete the old version and replace it with the new version.

    Also, it often isn't enough to just remove your Mods/CC out and repair the game... you will need to delete the local thumb cache.package file because sometimes bits of old/corrupted data will remain , even after you have removed your mods and this can still effect your game! 😮

    So, please do the following steps in order:

    Please do all of the following:

    1) Move the Mods Folder to your desktop

    2) Delete the localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. (This is very important!) 🤨

    3) Fix you game in Origin by logging in and go to Library, then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the "Repair Game" option from the list.  Wait until Origin finishes repairing all your packs and not just the base game. If you are on a Mac it will just repair the base game.

    4) Now, when you turn on your game again, it will create a new mods folder that will be empty.  Check to see if your game is now working without mods/CC.

    5) Now you can try adding back items from your Mods folder one at a time checking your game each time to see which item is causing your game to not work properly.  If you have a lot of items, you can try the 50/50 Method.

    The CC creators will usually update the CC items and Mods after these updates, so when you find out which one is the culprit, you can get the updated version from whoever made that item of CC in the first place.  You should try these steps any time you have problems in your game to rule out CC/Mods problems.  It is the responsibility of the Mods/CC creators to update their items anytime EA releases a patch/update, and it is the responsibility of the people who use Mods/CC to make sure they are using the most recent version, which was on July 24 or near that.

    After you delete all your outdated/broken Mods/CC and replaced them with the new versions compatible with the most recent update to the game, you can now move your Mods back into the game! 🙂

    Please update us on your situation! 😇

  • @wellaxo This seems to happen to my sim a lot - game continues but sim is stuck even after resetting and won't do any ordered actions (they just sit in the queue). After a reset the sim may move as if okay but then just stops stuck instead of starting action.
    If this is the same as is happening to you then the easiest way I have found to fix it is to force a loading screen.
    Easiest way is go to edit world without saving and go back to your sims lot. The sim will work again and game clock resets to the point they became stuck. This even clears the issue of them stuck at work if that's when the crash occurred.

    Hope this helps.

    This has been making me want to demand a full refund from EA. They keep putting out packs for people to buy but won't fix the game. There's pathing issues, blocking issues, opening/closing build or photo mode causes even more FPS issues than normal play, every baby that is aged up gets stuck on you forcing you to OPEN Build mode to drop the bassinet on them to separate them, and worst of all this issue with queues not loading. My sims will stand in front of the bassinet of a crying baby just staring, or a kid I'm trying to disciple walks off and gets away with it, or I try to cancel an action that will take me away from my current objective and it stays in queue and acts on it making the sim go all the way up or down stairs or a ladder before saying oh I didn't need to do that, then ending up looping that a few times. So sick of having to pause the timer or pause to options menu before every action hoping its one of the times that will actually fix it. I'm on console so no mods. Its just the game that rapidly overheats my PS4 and external HD even though games with more detailed graphics and much higher action don't.

    Hi all,

    My main Sim has been stuck in the downstairs guest loo for two days now and I can't seem to get him moving (although all other Sims keep going about normally - even using the loo with him watching them forlornly as they sit there and then just get up and leave... ).
    I've tried (numerous times) both:
    * Ctrl+Shift+C / resetsim firstname last name / Enter

    and

    * testingcheats on / Enter / Shift-click / Reset Object (DEBUG)
    but nothing happens.

    I have also gone to my Electronic Arts folder and deleted:
    * all (!) Mods

    * localthumbcache

    But still no response.

    Any other ideas out there - other than killing/deleting my main character  ;-((((...........

    Alex

    Hi, and thanks for the tip.

    Stumbled on the idea a moment ago myself, as one of the other Sims was in a really foul mood - so I told him to go to the gym and chose the "stuck" Sim as the one to go with him. They both ended up outside the gym and, after a workout, are now both happily at home.

    Thanks again for the assist !

    Alex

  • This only happens to me when playing sims university. I don’t have any mods, and nothing can fix it. I’ve tried everything. The only thing I can do is delete and start again. Why has EA not fixed this problem? I used to be able to leave the world and come back but now since their new update not even that works. Game is basically unplayable.

    I’ve repaired my game for a newer model laptop, honestly EA just needs to fix this and do better there’s been so many updates aswell and each time it just gets slower and more unresponsive

    @ayceikle If you're having a similar issue to this, please start a new thread. This one is old, and the causes could be very different. If you use mods, start at the pinned threads for current broken mods and issues.
