Sim won't approach townies when initiating action
Hey there; sorry if this was already discussed, but I literally have no idea how to google this subject.
I've been through fire and flames with The Sims 4, but this issue is stuck with me since day 1. Too bad the game is just too charming to be abandoned.
So, when I'm talking to a townie (or in latest particular case, mind control them to change outfits) and add action involving another townie, that other townie will start to approach me - even if they are far away, on the other side of the map, like telepathically sensing I need something.
Basically, I'm giving my active sim an instruction, but the NPC is the one doing it. My bar isn't walking up to me when I fancy a Plasma Jane.
Most annoying part is, they'll just stop midway because route is too long, meanwhile my sim, who is a vampire and would be there in a second, stands in place like a doof, unless I cancel the action and repeat it (once my sim is free of any queued actions). Try to meet & greet multiple townies in a row across huge open area - you'll grind your teeth flat.
I don't expect this to be considered a bug, because it'd be fixed by now, but does anyone know a setting I missed, or simple mod that would amend this awkward behaviour?
I'm aware this mechanic was most likely made with group conversations in mind, but the distance doesn't make any sense, nor does this happening when I probe minds, drink plasma, or do any other non-talky stuff.
Thanks! I expect the response to my elaborate complaint to be just "Nah.", but hope dies last.
- @Huncw0t Yes, that's how the game works. Have you tried walking over there before you initiate the actual conversation ? That's how I do it. I'm pretty sure it did not work that way when the game first came out but it did change after some point. Could be that they had to change it when they introduced clubs. I really can't remember.
