The Lost Legacy event is not loading in my game

When I start my game up, the Lost Legacy event doesn't show, so I am unable to play the event. I've even tried loading up my current save, but when the game seems loaded, I am not even able to go int...

EisQueenTia​ Instead of disabling mods, please do this:

  1. Rename the Mods folder and/or drag it to your desktop
  2. Delete the localthumbcache file

 

Then try again.

  1. I updated my game two nights ago since I have been playing offline since Nov 2025.
  2. Since I did a clean install, the entire sims 4 folder was renamed and therefore had a new mods folder.
  3. The pics I provided were from the clean install.
  4. I don’t have space on my laptop for my mods folder. I play my game from an external and do not have enough space on it either to save duplicate files. (I have 250gb of cc, mods and backups).

I’m going to delete the game and start over. I have 200gb of space for the important stuff so I can save my saves and tray. Thanks for the suggestion though!

    EisQueenTia​ Renaming the Mods folder won't duplicate the folder - it allows the game to make a tiny empty one. You really do need to test mod-free to find out if a mod is your issue. It's VERY possible it is, given the quantity you have. It's simply not possible to determine if a mod is your issue otherwise. You don't need to start over to do this. I also recommend have a new (and therefore small) save for Reward Events.

      I renamed my TS4 folder and it created a new one. I hadn’t moved my mods or saves. When I opened the game the UI wasn’t there. I moved extra files to the family desktop and did the process again with a fresh Sims 4 folder and it was still the same. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled and set up my links to my external as I had it before and it now works. Sometimes there are outliers and it’s ok. I’ve never had this issue before and I’ve played the prior events with AND without mods. That was the reason for my reporting and adding this issue to this thread to begin with.

        EisQueenTia​ Your issue likely is due to the game not liking to be run from an external drive. If it happens again, please do the folder-rename again, and then post with a clear set of what you did already to PC or Mac Sims 4 tech support.
