Can only save through Manage Worlds

For the past few months I haven't been able to save during play (Menu->Save) but the game would save if I exit to Main Menu then Save. More recently, that option is no longer available and I have to ...

How many save files are you currently playing with, and how old are they?

I have one save file that is three months old

  I may have found a solution. I uninstalled and reinstalled the base game and packs, then deleted the saved file. I lost all my progress in that one game but the new save file seems to save with no issues
