Console cheats

I just added the Modern Luxe Kit which I love. I know that placement of the throw pillows does need cheats, as stated in the Sims Community review but on Xbox with cheats it's still not possible to place them. I've got build mode envy again after speaking to PC players who can place them on sofas and beds without any problems at all while mine snap to the floor. With cheats they just merge into the item on which they are placed instead of sitting on them.

So I'd like to see this made possible on Console. I still love the kit but I'm really sad and disappointed that I can't get as much out of it as PC players because my controls don't have the right capabilities.

I'm pretty sure this is an oversight and not a bug so I'm adding feedback rather than a bug report but if I'm wrong about that I can file a report if it's appropriate to do so.

@simsplayer818 I went ahead and bought the Luxe Modern kit for my PS4 and can confirm that the pillow will raise for me. I noticed that if I press the triggers together, it almost always changes the free placement. If I press the right trigger (which toggles the lined grid) first, then press the left trigger, the free placement does not change.
If it's still not working, I wondered if you could try something similar to the curtain rod / window workaround. Maybe place the chair or whatever, then place the pillow. Move the furniture piece out of the way and raise the pillow (I think 4 clicks up is ideal) and rotate it as you wish. Then use free placement to move the furniture piece under / into place where the pillow is. Again, I know this isn't ideal because you still have to sort of eyeball the placement and positioning but maybe something to try until it's fixed?

@simsplayer818 Oh so your not able to raise or lower or use freebuild im able to do it on ps5 so could be just an xbox problem hun hope they get it sorted must be so frustrating

Hi @simsplayer818,

I've split your post off into it's own thread. All build mode cheats available on PC are also usable on console- are you currently not able to raise and lower objects in build mode?

For Xbox, in order to raise or lower objects you'll hold down LT + RT and either the Up or Down button on the D-pad.

@EA_Solaire thanks so much for your reply, I wasn't sure as it's my first attempt with MOO and it's a brand new item. I attach an image of what happens with the throw pillows. They snap to the floor as if seating isn't there. I tested other items on objects where they wouldn't usually belong, so for example I put a games console on a chair and I even got it to float in mid air with MOO. I've been a builder for years but never used cheats before.
I used the sectional seating from DHD in my example because a PC player mentioned being able to put the throw pillows on there, but they did the same thing. I can place them on platforms made into window seats but nothing else. I also tried dining/living chairs/beds.
@mumofharry thanks for replying, so I now know it works on PS4 as someone is testing that for me and PS5 thanks to you so perhaps an Xbox Series X/Xbox problem.

@simsplayer818 if you place it directly on the floor away from a sofa are you able to raise it then? Cos if your able to raise other objects the bug must be with the cushion and not the cheat strange one isnt it

@mumofharry I think it's just the cushion. It worked with the games console I placed. I assumed it was just something that was missed when they were created. But it's now looking like it's actually supposed to work but it's not working for me.

@simsplayer818 Yeah it must be just the cushion if everything else can be raised and lowered what happens if you place it on the floor away from everything and try to raise it?

@mumofharry I tried everything I could think of. I had some weird snapping problems with the curtains and poles from the Modern Luxe kit too but found a workaround on a bug thread for the Desert Luxe curtains (window has to be placed after curtains/poles).
I've spent more time over the last few days waving throw pillows and curtain poles in the air lol. It's as if the throw pillows drop to the floor like stones instantly no matter what I do.
Since I've never used cheats in all my 20 odd simming years I don't know how to get them to work. I'd usually uninstall and reinstall everything, power cycle, clear locally saved data, but since it's a cheat I'm clueless.

@simsplayer818Yeah the curtains are tricky for me too they work better if you cycle to enable freemove (not sure if that's the right word lol ) its where the full and half tile cycle is. if you can raise and lower other objects you must be doing it right the only other thing i can suggest is use the bb.moveobjects place the cushion on the floor pick it up cycle enable free move and then hold lt rt press arrow up to see if that works

@mumofharry yes I found that too with the short curtains on a short wall. Then I was using tall walls and it didn't work anymore but luckily I found the workaround for removing the windows.
I feel like I've been testing for hours with these throw pillows again lol. But I ended up making decorative fake seating with platforms in the end so I could still use them and I'm still happy with the results. I can get plushies to sit on sofas and beds but the throw pillow just doesn't let me place it on any beds or seating.
So I think it may be a bug with the throw pillow on Xbox series X possibly 🤔.

Thanks for the info on this! Have you tested these specific pillows on another lot as well or in another save game to see if you're able to raise them?
