Every time I try to start it it either won't open at all, it just says sorry this is taking a long time and it closes, or it will get to the loading screen and stop progressing. I've got as far as the main home screen to load a game and it's frozen loading that. I've loads of room on my Xbox series x, it's up to date and I've tried clearing cache and completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Nothing is working. It's no my Xbox as other games work.

There's nothing to see when it does it, it just goes completely black and I have to turn off my Xbox.

I am having the same issue on my xbox series s. I have done the steps several times and still receive the error message. I have spoken with xbox support and factory reset my xbox twice. After the reset I am able to play but once I turn it off and try to launch the game again I am getting the error message again.
Same thing for me on Xbox series x and s ever since the last update. This was an ongoing issue a couple of years ago as well when they introduced Sims Delivery. Now it's happening again. Have to restart xbox every time.
This is still happening. I keep having to reset my console which is time consuming and annoying. There was just an update why has it not been fixed?
I'm having the same issue. We all need to reach out to EA. After purchasing the game and the packs this is a $500 investment. I really hope EA takes this seriously and fixes it soon. I really like this game and I want to play!
So I factory reset my Xbox and redownloaded the sims 4 again! It finally worked... And the new update looks so WEIRD!
After talking to Xbox support they recommended I buy the newest version of Xbox because they no longer support the Xbox ones. I'm assuming this is probably what I'm going to have to do after every Sims update. Factory reset and delete everything.
