sparklebright9 I upgraded to Xbox Series X a couple of years ago and I'm personally finding it much better for running the Sims 4, I'd go as far as to say it's been essential. But I am still careful about the number of saves I have. Currently I have 2 quite large saves with one of those being a backup. I also clear my library, that was a tip from Xbox Support. I clear all inventories from previously played households and Sims too, both personal and household (build mode). I clear Other Households daily and delete random Townies because I get more arriving every day and they slow the game down. So by following these rules and with just the 2 saves it's so much better for me. On the rare occasions where I crash it's usually part of a wider issue affecting others too, whereas before it would more likely be my console. I'm also on Superfast broadband which is one down from the fastest BB where I live.
I've played Sims 4 on Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox Series S before this. Xbox Series S was a bit of a crashing nightmare tbh I had months of being unable to play at all. I'm finding a big difference with the power of the Xbox Series X. Xbox Support told me a while ago that the older models are starting to really struggle. I never thought I'd be able to run the full game with all the content installed like I am now.
So I'd personally recommend it but Xbox Support are pretty good if you want another opinion. I have the Xbox Support app installed on my mobile.
You can transfer your content from your previous Xbox too so you don't lose anything. Just make sure to keep your older model before you set up the new one and on the old one in settings go to Profile&system>Settings>System>Backup&transfer and allow network transfer. Then on your new console do the same and you should see your other console listed. There are YouTube tutorials if you want to see it demonstrated.
You'll immediately notice much faster download times on the Series X for purchases and updates. Loading screens are faster too for me.
Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for your reply. This has made me feel a lot better about potentially upgrading.
Your tips/rules for your game also sound super helpful and I’ll definitely give them a try on my current Xbox to hopefully improve my games performance.
I was a little bit hesitant about upgrading but this has made me feel less worried about it
Thank youu!!
