Re: Connection is Required error

Okay, so whenever I launch the Sims 4 on my PS5 it automatically just goes to the menu screen and doesn’t make me sign in. However, it keeps giving me this error message: “EA app authentication failed. Please log in to EA app to enable online features.” Here’s everything I have tried: I’ve checked my network connection (all good), I’ve renewed my license, I’ve deleted and reinstalled the game, and I’ve restarted my PS5. It does not give me an option to sign in anywhere, not even on the “other” tab in Game Options, which has been recommended to people with a similar issue. I’ve tried so many times to reconnect using the “reconnect and resume download” button on the Sims Delivery tab to no avail as it keeps giving me the same error message. Also, every time I change the settings on the Game Options tab, it goes back to its original state whenever I close the game and open it again. I have no mods or expansion packs, just the base game with all updates. I’m at a loss for what to do - this is so frustrating. Please somebody help!!!

    Same thing just happened to me as well and I’ve closed my game out and restarted my PlayStation also checked my internet but still gives me the same message it’s giving you. I was fine before I did the update but today it’s just not working. Hopefully it’s something they can fix fast cause it’s highly annoying

    Same thing is happening to me as well. I use PS5 to play. My settings are also not saving. I normally turn music off, but it keeps enabling itself between play sessions.

    So it's been happening to all of us since the last update and they've made no effort to spread awareness or fix it. I was almost done with a new Rec Center and now when I go in to try and finish, items have been deleted. I have no idea which items or why. This is actually ridiculous and EA needs to be better about announcing things like this. Been Googling for like 20 minutes and finally just found this article. EA is trash.

    Same issue here. I thought it was an issue with the linking between my PSN and EA accounts, and it no joke took me 3 hours to even log into EA to check. It's fine. Then after hours of searching I find this thread, so frustrating. Was also fine before the patch that was supposed to actually fix a bunch of stuff. Not break it more. And it's still raining inside! 😂 Joke.

    Omg !  Me too I’m playing on ps5 , but to add to the frustration every time I start the game I have to always accept the Ts&Cs and adjust my screen. It’s so annoying.

    Okay so it's bothering me that this is still an issue and nobody has talked about it outside these forums. I contacted EA Help and spoke with a very nice representative who stated they would be forwarding the issue to the proper team. They stated they were not aware of this issue and thanked me for bringing it to their attention. I'm hoping this will get us closer to some sort of resolution. Just wanted to give y'all an update!

    I got the same issue, first I though it was a small bug after update that would be fixed in no time, but now Im concerned, time passed but issue is still not resolved. I see no official response on what’s going on, or any update on when it would be fixed.

    Im also a fellow PS5 simmer. I've been having same issues. It sucks because the new Nature's Calling event starts tomorrow and I'm not sure if we'll be able to participate.

    it's been happening to me for the last two days and I thought it would have been fixed, tried again this morning because im interested in the Nature's Calling event and still saying I have issues with EA connectivity, tried everything to get it back working yet nothings worked. We pay money for packs because ps5 players can't get mods or cc and yet its still failing us 😭 can't even participate in the event as its not showing up probably due to the connectivity problems!!

    Same I thought it was just me I was about to break down thinking my game was corrupted now but first thing I suspected was the sims and the glitchy updates they do

    This worked for me! I get the pop up for the event, my news feed is back and I no longer receive the error that authentication failed. I hope this helps all of you as well!

    Also, "restore. License" did not show up for me initially. I had to back out of the setting and go back, then it was available.
