Hi @Hawkins2013,

Sorry to read your game is freezing, I can understand it's not a pleasant situation!

Could you let us know what are you doing when your game freezes? Does it happen always when you perform a certain action like travelling, while being creating a Sim, at a certain in-game time or when using a specific object? Or does it seem random?

    Hi Mai,

    It's random. It's happened twice today. I'll play, and have every 10 to 15min. If I'm really at a point where I don't want to stop and save and 20 or 30min go by, when I finally decide to save it freezes in save more and I have to close the application. It's like saving it every 10 to 15min is what keeps it from freezing. My PS4 has 400GB and I have like 276GB left so it's not a storage issue. It had also happen a few times when I try to save right after going from build mode to live mode. My goal is to save all the changes I just made because I know the game is going to freeze and it still freezes causing me to lose everything I just did in build more. So my game freezes if I go to long without saving while playing and sometimes right after I come out of build mode.

    the characters freeze, doesn't matter what you doing, when the game chooses to freeze it'll freeze your stuck trying to click through Sim characters & they are all stuck standing or just moving in one spot very fast but can't chose to do anything nor move or switch between characters once you can, switch, it freezers it & freezes again on the new character you choose I notice when you go build & buy mode & back onto live it starts freezing hard than.

    Hi @Frisky-Women @Hawkins2013,

    Let's make sure there's no corrupted cached data in your console. Please, clear your PlayStation cache:

    1. Turn off your PlayStation 4 by holding the PlayStation button on your controller and selection 'Turn off'.
    2. Unplug the power cable from the back of your PlayStation and wait 30 seconds.
    3. Plug the cable again and turn on your console.

    This won't delete your saved game data, so your Sims will be there when you open the game again.

    I have the same issue. My ps4 keeps shutting down the game. Sometimes the game just freezes and I'm forced to shut it down so I lose game progress again. I've tried clearing cache and all that. There's nothing wrong with my ps4 and I never had these issues with other games. I'm really getting frustrated now. Can you please fix this bug?

    This solution does not work. The game still freezes and crashes consistently. It doesn't matter if you are traveling, staying at home, taking a dump, etc. It crashes if you do not save every 15-20 mins. This is very frustrating. If you have to limit your Sim to certain activities for fear of the game crashing, it just creates a frustrating gaming experience. It's almost like you are playing on an old PC. That's how unstable it feels.

    Honestly, these generic solutions by EA are more insulting and frustrating than helpful. There is NOTHING wrong with my PS4. I don't need to clear a data cache, or whatever the heck you are suggesting. This is a problem with the game's programming, and the updates have not helped. Fix this issue soon. I am a long time Sims fan, but I will not be investing ANY money for expansions, etc if the game is not playable and/or stable.

    I am not experiencing any of these problems, but I have encountered freezing and actual crashes on occasion that led to me restarting the game.

    My biggest pain point at the moment is just the general responsiveness of the game particularly with sims performing actions, waiting or doing.

    I would try everything that EA's support team suggests just in case it is an issue with your system caused indirectly or directly by the game during installation or an update. If it was a significant break that has been introduced in the game, then I would expect everyone would have the same problem but this does not seem to be the case.

    Although frustrating, I personally have not encountered anything truly game breaking and I suspect over time the stability will increase and lead to a much more smoother player experience.

    I am running it on the PS4 also.

    My game keeps freezing at the same time every morning during the week. My kid is late everyday to school, male character late for work everyday, and because I can’t move to take care of my toddler, she starves, * herself and cries. Then I get told my kid will get taken away. I’ve stopped playing altogether! At this point, I just want my money back for the game and 3 expansion packs. It’s not even enjoyable. Just watching my game freeze as 3 Sim hours roll by and 15 minutes real time MULTIPLE times while I’m playing.

    My Sims 4 crashes often as well. It freezes at a specific spot on the load before even getting to the game. I guess i see why we cant get cc on console (i have ps4) like on cpu...it would be a wreck. I purchased a brand new game just 2 weeks ago and the problems been getting worse since. This is the only game out of all the other games im having a problem with.

    I am having a problem with so many things. All of the above and now that we have bought the restaurants package, well the game is worse than ever. It comes down to ea either fixing these problems or giving our money back   Which is it going to be?  The play mod drives us crazy. The build mod seems ok. But we want to play our game.

    @EA_Mai mine is crashing to the point it is unplayable now 😔 I couldn’t play for more than a few seconds last night and I tried clearing the cache tonight and it worked for the grand total of a minute before crashing 😏 this is the only game it’s happening on. I have noticed a few other weird things too not sure if they’re related... since my kid aged up to become a teen (and a vampire) she’ll randomly disappear through the floor with a splash like she’s jumping in a swimming pool and re-emerge wearing her workout clothes, and if she’s doing any action when the go to school action appears then the whole house will freeze sometimes it’ll sort itself out other times it won’t (this has been an issue since she was a child starting about a week ago) and for some reason none of them would drink their plasma bags and eat the plasma salad unless I stayed on their Sim until they finished, if I changed then all of a sudden I’d find them placed on the outside table even though the Sim hadn’t moved

    Im just starting ...this is my first time playing ...just bought game ...but building my house ...it will play ok ,for ten min then freeze ...cant do anything else ...have to close out game ...have tried building house three times ...

    I am so fed up with this stupid malfunctioning game. I have started from scratch not 1 nor 2 but THREE times!!! Not to mention I got some expansions. That’s how much I loved this game but it’s only proven to be a waste of time.

    I’m having the same problems. Sometimes my characters will “disappear” all of a sudden (with no way to switch back to them), I’ve had to restart the game about 3 or 4 times (in one session) usually. Now my screen also got frozen while I was saving and I lost everything... AGAIN!!!
    My ps4 is also functioning perfectly. None of the other 64 games I own are as buggy and enfuriating as this one.

    Sorry I’m venting, it’s not your guys fault, it’s EA’s for being so incompetent. What a waste of time this game is.

    Mine also freezes. Just after each game. If you see the same map then its a gunner.

    I’ve noticed that EA stopped replying and has no plan on fixing the issue. They just had an update that fixed absolutely nothing and here I am trying to play this game (thankfully it was free on PS4 a few months ago, would NEVER have bought this glitchy, broken game that EA could care less about fixing) and it is such a hassle. You fast forward and nothing happens. You let it play and the sim won’t do anything you tell it to do. The sim just stands there like an idiot, not even moving. None of the “fixes” that EA suggested work. Face it, everyone, EA has destroyed a wonderful franchise by charging way too much, adding way too much and charging for those extras. This game is still broken after 4 years and I doubt they will be fixing it soon. I just gave up and deleted it. Completely unplayable.
