Sims 4 PS4 Won’t allow me to create character

Just installed the game and made my first character, seemed fine, then went to add a family member and it wouldn’t allow me to customize the character. Then the UI disappears and I cannot do anything ...

I do.. it will let me create random parts of the sim then be stuck with the name section invisible but only showing the hover help hint windows over the first and last name section even though i created a name already?
