Sims4 PS4 is one big pain

Sims 4 for PS4 is a giant programming error. I'm more relaxed doing schoolwork than I am trying to maneuver through these bugs. The sims isn't supposed to be a game people rage quit.

My sims frequently won't respond to commands and I have to do "resetsim" and this happens at least once each time I play.

Progress bar gets stuck over sims head until I reset the game.

Controls try to work two menus at once and game is unplayable without resetting.

Controls skip over most houses when trying to select a specific house. I essentially get locked out of 50% of the buildings because there's no way to select them.

Sims will randomly not do commands even if there is no physical barrier or other impediment.

I mean, we had some of this on the PC version but it's CONSTANT on PS4. Every. Single. Time. It's not worth playing.

And in general, the controls are an absolute pain. I knew they'd be rougher than the PC, but it's unnecessarily complex and adds to the frustration.

Was this game even beta tested? I'm was so excited for this and now I'd rather boot up my ancient PC to play the sims than deal with this.

Unless there's some update to address the many issues the game has, it's unplayable.

@Brieme I certainly have not experienced many of the issues you have raised. The game is far from perfect, but for me, it is certainly playable. The only issues I have are the sometimes excruciating loading times that really does impact the immersive experience, sound and animation getting out of sync after fast-forwarding time, some graphical artefacts like a blurred vision of San Myshuno and the occasional hits to performance when multiple things are going on at one time.

I do agree the controls are quite difficult, especially the cursor which seems to have no way of changing its acceleration. This does make it challenging to click on small UI elements (almost a game in itself). Aside from that, I think the controls will just take some time getting used to. I would like to see a slider at least for the cursor's acceleration. That would make the controls somewhat more bearable.

The only real issue I have encountered that forced me to restart the game was when I zoomed out to quick travel and it just would not load the world map. The loading overlay appeared, however, I could still see my sims going about their automonous lives while being completely unable to back out or even open the pause menu. I gave it more than enough time to respond - almost 3 minutes but it just seemed to be stuck at the loading sequence.

I envision more hot fixes and updates will increase the stability of the game over time and make it an absolute pleasure to play The Sims from the sofa and a lot more akin to its PC counterpart.
