I only have the Sims 4 downloaded on the external drive. I also made sure to put all my mods into the folder as well. My issues is, my game was working fine until last week. At some point, the game started to not work. And now i'm stuck with this error telling me the game is still running. I am not sure, if I accidentally removed the ssd without ejecting it and some files may have gotten corrupted.

    Do you mean the Sims 4 game installation via Origin/EA App or have you created the symlink to store the Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder on the external? Or both?

      I created a symlink.
