broken update for Mac?

hi, I updated the game on the 22nd and ever since I updated it my sims 4 game thinks my MacBook is a console and I'm unable to play my game. nothing will work on my keyboard to play the game. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling. I've tried repairing the game and nothing's worked. I don't know if anyone else has been having this issue but from what I've been reading this update has been creating issues for a lot of people . it would be nice to get some help on this issue
