Issue with Opening Cheat Console in The Sims 4 on MacBook

Hi! I’m having trouble opening the cheat console in The Sims 4 on my MacBook. According to the instructions, I should use Command + Shift + C, but instead of the cheat console appearing, it takes a screenshot. I’ve tried alternative key combinations like Fn + Command + Shift + C and Control + Shift + C, but none of them work. I’ve also disabled the macOS shortcuts for screenshots in system preferences and switched the game to windowed mode, but the issue persists. The game is updated to the latest version... Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution?

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • I tried doing this

    System Settings
    Keyboard
    Keyboard Shortcuts
    Modifier Keys
Select Keyboard, which you can select

USB Keyboard if you have an external one
    Change Control key to Control
Try using Ctrl Shift C to open the console
    Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad
Try Option B if Option A doesn't work
Option A: Command key to Control
Option B: Control key to Command

Once you change the appropriate key, then try using the normal Ctrl Shift C in the cheat console. If you have more issues, give a shout here.

Note: If you change this, make sure to change them back to the original settings when you aren't playing, otherwise you won't be able to Copy and Paste things.

  • Forgive the WEIRD formatting above... the EA forums kept giving me this weird block when I tried to post.
