CC disappeared immediately after downloading and moving into "content folder"

I just downloaded sims on my new macbook yesterday, and spent hours today downloading new custom content for it. I downloaded probably 400+ files. I assumed they went into the "content" folder, and moved all of the files there. Then opened the game, and none of it was there despite cc and mods enabled. When I opened up finder all of it was gone. Can anyone help me with this? It's no longer in my downloads because I moved it all into the content folder. I am hoping there is some way I don't have to go back through and spend hours downloading it all again. Thanks!!
