Eternal Loading Screen/Corrupted Save files

After a crash during game play in planning outfits mode, I have been unable to load a game past the home screen without encountering an eternal loading screen and having to force quit sims 4.

I have repaired the game multiple times and cleared the cache. I tested a a clean game and completed a successful play through and made it past loading everything seemed normal. However when I began the process of bringing over my save files into the clean folder it was having the same issues.  My save file must be corrupted but I am not sure how to proceed from here.

I do not use mods or CC.

  • SilentWalker313 Have you tried restoring a backup of the corrupted save? Start with a clean Sims 4 folder again by renaming the current one, launching the game and then quitting. Move the backup save that has .Ver0 in the file name into the newly created Sims 4 > saves folder.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've just tried it but when loading the game it doesn't recognize there is any save data,  the only option is to start a new game.

I tried deleting the Ver and the same issue occured. I tested the Ver1 save file and was successful with my test and got past the endless loading, I lost some data but am glad that file is working at the very least. I also tested another family and it worked. So the issue is exclusive to the .save and .save.ver0  files, is there a way that I could repair them or should I take the loss :/
