Game greys out and won’t let me click

Recently in my game it keeps greying out the screen when playing (not loading/buy mode). I can zoom in/out but can’t do anything else. I don’t know how to get out or save without force quitting and losing my progress :( I don’t use mods in my game and this is a recent issue in the last week or so.
