My game won’t launch, freezes almost immediately

I’m not sure what’s wrong, I need help because I’ve tried everything I can think of. When I try to launch The Sims 4 it gets to the blue triangle screen before the Sims 4 logo even appears and freezes up. 

I’ve tried restarting my laptop, I’ve tried uninstalling the game and the EA app and reinstalling both. I’ve tried repairing the game in the EA app. I’ve tried renaming “The Sims 4” folder in my documents so it has to create a clean version to launch. Nothing is helping. 

I tried going offline, that didn’t work either. I’m at a loss for what else to try. I just bought a bunch of extra content last week, I gave myself an hour of two to play tonight, and can’t even get into the game. 

I don’t use mods or custom content.
