"Origin" Can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for Malicious Software

@answerhq @Bluebellflora 

Hi I finished playing Sims 4 at night and then the next day when I went to play it again "Origin" wouldn't load up, So I ( think ) I have deleted it and I have tried to Download it again and now I get this message when I want to Open the download file so that it downloads properly, 

       "Origin" Can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for Malicious Software.  

Whats going on and still I can't play The Sims 4.

My OS is the new Mac Catalina once I did all what you have said recently on how to fix the problem with the New Upgrade to OS Catalina it was working fine, So what's changed ???

Can you help me please.?

    General Note - The Origin client appears to have been updated to address the Signing and Notarization issues that were causing this Gatekeeper quarantine. You should now (on first launch) see a message from Finder that indicates it's an app that has been downloaded from the Internet and verifying that you want to run it. All you have to do is click the "Open" button. You should not see the message again unless you download a completely fresh copy of the Origin client (Origin self-updates should not re-trigger the warning).

    Merged your thread into this one. Please read the accepted solution (second post on page 1) for instructions on how to allow Origin in System Preferences.

    I have the same problem and origin got really, really poor record of supporting  customers. The online chart is just  for show only you never get in que?

    Help! I can not get origin to run on my Mac. It says that Apple can't go around the malware. I have uninstalled and reinstalled origin about 15 different times.

    I have gone through and tried all of the fixes that have been mentions. now I have uninstalled origin. download from origin website and i get this message when i try to open the launcher. I am running the latest version of Mac Catalina on my mac. Please what else can i do to play sims?

    Hej, I (or rather my daughter) has the same problem since Apple updated to Catalina. I have followed these steps and deleted the old version of Origin and downloaded the new version following the links here.

    I receive the following message from the computer:

    “Origin” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

    Any suggestions?

    so I bought the sims 4 yesterday cause it was 80 % off and I couldn't wait to play it but now I can't play it because I can't log into the origin website and I can't even get the application to start. on the origin website it says my log in failed, i tried to register again but it wouldn't let me either, but when I use my phone to log in it lets me so wtf??. when I download the origin application it also says that the software needs to be updated cause my Mac doesn't support it and it needs to check for malicious files or whatever. I've tried resetting the app, deleting and redownloading it but nothing is working.i already tried costumer support but its whack and didn't help at all. also maybe my apple Os has something to do with it but I have the latest version ? sooo.. its Catalina 10.15 btw. pls lmk if there's anything y'all can do to help

    I have tried this and I still get the same error message that it cannot be opened due to Apple not being able to verify the files. 

    When will origin be releasing an update as it clearly does not support IOS Catalina.

    @Jennypenny1987 and @LouisPongratz, what happens if your right-click (or hold the Ctrl key and normal click) on Origin to get the pop-up menu and select "Open" from there? Does Origin open as expected?

    Can you try the steps described at the following link (yes, they are not written for Origin specifically, but they're attempting to address the same problem)?
