Re: How Can I Restore My Progress (Old Games) In My Sims 4 Game?

@jadaadams2000

You're on a Mac, not Windows. They are not the same.

All of your saves, mods, and user data needs to be in User > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 for the game to try and load it. If it isn't it will create a new Sims 4 folder and create new files.

I think you're saying you moved the Sims 4 folder to the desktop and then did a bunch of other stuff and now nothing is loading. It sounds like you've moved important files to differing locations. Please read this and see if you can figure out where the files are you need to move back into the correct location https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612398#M163

    Hi and Thank you so much! I think I was too late to do what the article you sent for me regarding the steps. I just decided to use the new Sims 4 folder that created itself with new files,  and I've already redownloaded a few old Mods I've had before so far.

    Did you trash the save files and empty the bin? If not they will still be on your Mac and can be moved into the new Sims 4 > saves folder 🙂

    Hi, I deleted it or the Sims 4 game removed the save file itself when the new Sims 4 Folder was created. Everything got deleted on the old Sims 4 folder, and it's not even in the "Trash" on my Mac. Thank you for your help and responding back to my question/post 🙂

    The game doesn't remove any saves from the Sims 4 folder. Try a full search of your Mac using Terminal. Open Terminal, copy/paste the following command then hit Enter:

    Please open Terminal and copy and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:

    find / -type f -name "*Slot_*" 2>/dev/null

    After a little while it will return the results of the search. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.

    Thanks. That save - Slot_00000044 - looks like it may still be in your iCloud trash. You can check by signing into iCloud in a web browser then going to Drive then Recently Deleted. Maybe that is one of your old saves?

    No problem. 🙂 I did everything you told me, but it said "No items" under the "Recently Deleted". Plus, my iCloud storage is full on my Mac, so there is no space. Maybe that's why it didn't show up?

    It's okay, I've already started to redownload old Mods and downloaded new Mods. Thank you so much for your time and help! 🙂 I appreciate it!
