Sims frozen and time looping

Was playing the game last night, about 17 hours ago, when my Sims just froze, with the time still passing but then looping back (going from 2:30am to 3am and then back to 2:30). If I went to the menu it would then load a bit but then as soon as I went back to play mode the same thing happened

I left this and came back just now and the same thing is happening. I'm playing on mac and have not come across this issue before. I have no mods, have repaired the game numerous times on the EA app but its still the same. When i try to go to manage worlds the loading screen appears and then just never goes?

When i've waited for eveyrthing to unfreeze itself, my toddler, who was going to age up anyway, then ages... and keeps ageing? so he's now gone to a teen?

any suggestions or anyone similar?
