travel issues

good day all so I need some help my sims can't travel. when I select the cell phone and and select travel the map shows up, nothing shows up on the map just my sims house and empty lots there are names above 2 lots one is the park and I think the other was a gym. when I select either location my sims won't go. I have repaired the game a few times and I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I still can't travel. I have sims 4 with the rent expansion pack.
