travel to SIXAM freezes the game

When my sim travels through the wormhole in the rocket ship, the entire game freezes and it gets stuck on the loading screen. I have to force quit. 

This has been happening with other lots too--many in willow creek, the eco lifestyle landfill lot, and others in the base game oasis springs. When I arrive, the screen freezes and I can't see my mouse to click anything, even though normal sounds are playing. It happens more frequently when it's raining.

I have no mods installed. Macbook Pro, Apple M1 Pro, Monterey 12.3.1.

    Enable laptop mode in the in-game graphics options and see if that helps. 

    You're running an old version of macOS, is there any specific reason you haven't updated it past Monterey or even installed just the usual updates to Monterey?
