After the latest update on July 1, 2025, you cannot put plates in the basket or sink by hand, only dishwashers. You also cannot put laundry in the laundry basket by hand. You cannot do a pregnancy test....

I've also had issues with this too, including just getting the sim to clean up. Usually says that there isn't a bin to put anything in or anything to clean up with. I have go into build mode, replace the bin and then it works for just the sim cleaning up for a little and then have to do it again. And moveobjects isn't on..
I've actually noticed that the maids often come to the door, clean nothing up, then tell you they're done here and charge for the service.
