Billing for Pre-Order Game

Dear Origin,

I have just placed my order for The Sim4 PC Download. It's a pre-order game and will be released Fall 2014. I choose pay pal method for payment. My question is why Origin billed automatically while the game has not been released yet ? I have notification from my credit card (registered in my paypal) that It's billed.

Please answer my question.

    You usually do not pay in advance for a pre-order from Origin. That's the major difference between a pre-order and a pre-purchase.

    What most online shops do is sending a request to your account or credit card. They basically ask "hey, is this a valid Paypal account / credit card?" This request is usually a small amount of money that they charge and book back to your account immediately.

    Please check your account again to see if the money is still missing. If yes, please get in contact with an EA Game Advisor to find out when they will charge it back.

    You need to log into the help page with your Origin account and then click on http://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/ - choose your game, platform, and topic to see the contact options. Please choose phone or chat as contact option.

  • I too have this problem. I've been trying to get my money back from EA for a few months now and they keep giving me the run around.

    Thank you for responding to me! I haven't recieved an e-mail from anyone as of yet. I did make another call on the 24th after I posted on this thread to see if anything was being done. The adviser, who was very kind, told me I should have recieved an e-mail like you have said, but I told him that I never recieved an e-mail from anyone concerning my problem. He told me that they would be getting my case to the manager of the team that is supposed to be working on this refund this Monday (today). I'm hoping I'll recieve and e-mail or any kind of information today. If not, I'll have to give them a call again tomorrow.

    I was told I would get my money back, but this entire process is being so drawn out and I'm not sure what is going wrong.
