Black screen when trying to start Sims

Hello, as the title states, whenever I try to start Sims 4 my screen turns black. I only recently got this issue about two months ago, and after hours of trying to fix it decided it wasn't worth the hassle and left it. 

To explain a bit more, the screen does turn white at first as it usually does, but immediately turns black after. I can hear the music playing in the background but I'm unable to do anything on my laptop, therefore having to completely restart my laptop to get it functioning again.

I have been playing this game for almost five years and never had any issues prior.

I have tried: removing all mods, restarting/repairing the origin app itself, reinstalling the game, deleting cache.
