Solved

Cannot open the game

Since the update, my game has been completely unplayable. Every time I open it, it crashes.

I have reinstalled the game, and the EA app, I have no mods, I have cleared everything. Everything is updated as well.

I tried everything and I'm not sure what else to do.

  • squishy0907  When you say you cleared everything, did you move or rename the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts?  This would hide, but not delete, your saves and other user data, the idea being to test in a new save with no extra content.  If you haven't done this already, please do so now.

If this doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  You can then attach it to a reply here using the Attachment (paper clip icon) button included with the other formatting options.

  • What kind of memory does your computer have? Mine has the minimum 8GB. When we got that massive update for infants, I could only play for a short time, then it would crash. I had to buy an external hard drive and put all of my other documents and pictures on it. It worked! Not saying this will end your frustration but is something to look at.

Thank you so much. I hadn't thought of doing this but it worked!

I'm having the same issue and have ran threw all my files and deleted everything EA or Madden related. Every time I boot Madden up it says The app crashed unexpectedly. I have tied all the solutions the internet has to offer.

  • squishy0907  That's great to hear, and enjoy your game.

Lunar_Cloudz_YT  There is no Madden support on this forum yet, although it should be coming soon.  So please post on Answers HQ:

However, your dxdiag does list a few crashes of the graphics driver, so the next troubleshooting step would be to clean-uninstall and reinstall the driver.  Here's how:
