Can't change display type?

Hi, 
This is a bit of a weird one, but my game seems to have put itself into Fullscreen mode and I'm unable to change it back. Going into setting and changing the display type back to Windowed Fullscreen and applying changes results in the game freezing and me being unable to click anything.  Any help would be much apricated.
