feeeeeerv Mods could still be the problem here because some don't cause issues until their content is used, or used in a particular way.
Regardless, please open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you find. Try to load one of these households without your Mods folder present, and see whether you get a new lastexception file. If you do, open it, delete its first line, and attach it to a reply here.
