Can't update Sims 4 on EA app

I can't update the Sims 4 on the EA app this started yesterday on march 25,2023 and it's still doing this very annoying. I've been having problems with the EA app looks like everyone has. I can't contact EA because they keep forcing me to go to the community for problems like literally when I press "make a new case" it takes me back to the topics page. Im very frustrated because I've spent my money on this game and it's not working im starting to wish i used steam instead.

  • This is happening to me too. I contacted EA and they were no help. They just said everyone is having this problem.

@gothboy_23  Your computer does actually have wifi—I can see the driver for it in your dxdiag.  How is your computer currently connected to the internet?  You can check by looking at the icon in the lower-right corner of your screen, just to the left of the clock.  If it shows a wifi icon, you're using wifi; ethernet has a different icon.  You can also click this icon to switch to a different wifi connection.

If the laptop is using an ethernet cable, please switch over to wifi, specifically using your phone as a mobile hotspot.  (You may need to disconnect the ethernet cable to see the option.)  Make sure it's using data, not your home wifi.  If using data for this update would be a problem, you can pause the update as soon as it starts; the point is to find out whether the download errors out or not.

If your laptop is already using your home wifi, try switching to ethernet, i.e. a connection via cable.  You might need to borrow one from another computer, but that's fine: the cables can be switched whenever you want.  If that doesn't help, try using your phone as a hotspot as described above.

@Rennegadez  What game version are you running?  Please load Sims 4 to the Main Menu and look in the lower-right area.  The current version is 1.99.
