CRASH / SAVE FILE CORRUPTED

Good evening, I encountered the following problem on two saves I started several days ago:

After changing some clothes in CAS and clicking confirm, the game crashed. When I tried to re-enter the game and restart it, it crashed again.

I have updated all the mods, repaired the game, and even tried deleting the cache, but nothing was fixed. I also tried loading a previous save, and the game initially started, but once I saved and exited the game, the problem recurred.

Playing The Sims 4 is becoming excruciating. Not to mention all the hours of gameplay completely lost because of this problem is ABSURD.

ah, before you ask I obviously tried to play without mods :)

  • DaNiX_2906  Did you try to play your backup save without mods?  Please try if you haven't already, and if that doesn't work, try a slightly older save.  The idea is that maybe one of your mods broke your save very recently, and you can go far back enough to avoid the issue.

Separately, would you be willing to share your save and its intact backups?  If so, upload them somewhere and either post the link here or send it to me via PM.  EA is very interested in broken saves right now, and yours might be helpful to the ongoing investigation.

I tried to send you the saves files here via PM, but the file format isn't supported.
    What can I do?

  • DaNiX_2906  I just wanted to note that I've tested your save (with no mods or custom content present) and it crashed for me too when exiting CAS.  Then I moved the household to a different lot, the one at the bottom of the Henford map, and got another crash when exiting CAS.  I don't have time to do mor than that at the moment but will come back to it if no one else comes up with other ideas.

If you want to experiment yourself in the interim, the next thing I'd try would be to install ShowSimInfo (the one from frankk is current; the one hosted by Mod the Sims is not) and see what traits the sims have, and whether removing any extra or hidden traits helps.
