Crash since update 09/18/24

Hi - I've had the exact same issue.  Look further down to "Constant Crashing".  The help I received has cleared the issue for me.  I'm technology challenged so I suggest you read his/her suggestions given to me.  :)

I have generated a brand new save without mods and without cc. A brand new sims 4 folder. My game played for a while and then crashed. I personally think that this is definitely the patch. Issues started happening with For Rent Update. Here is what I think is few reasons for issues.  Lots made with tool (to clarify most good builds in gallery are made with tool and you do not have to have tool yourself to use them or mods or cc. You also cannot tell which creator used tool and which did not and not being able to use gallery builds, to me defeats the purpose of playing sims because build mode is the only part that was good about this butchered version of sims) . I think some tool configurations might be causing game infinite load screen and freezes. That is not on tool that is on EA because as much tool might not be their creation not taking it under consideration in a patch is an absurd error because it is at this point as much part of sims as anything else. Many people only build and tool is a big reason for that. This mod should always be accounted for in patches because of how it impacts game play modded or not. That is one theory. The other is that EA broke something in build when they updated the game for For Rent, ignored reports of issues and sold the next expansion (in their traditional fashion) which exasperated the already existing issue. Now they added a reaper event forcing players to stop enjoying their game and do what EA decided players should do instead (since it is not an option). Reaper further exasperated issues and now they want people to buy another expansion despite the fact that many people cannot play the game at all. I did every solution I been suggested and the game crashes, freezes, gets stuck in load screen. I have a gaming laptop above EA specs. I get a LE which states there is a delivery issue (probably due to Reaper event). I did everything you suggested and nothing works because EA needs to find what they did in the for rent patch because that is where all the problems began and basically now are making many people not play at all. There are save files that you can download that do not use cc or mods and stopped loading lots when For Rent came out. You don’t have to be Nancy drew to figure out that if not modded builds were loading before for rent and stopped loading after the issue started with for rent. It just wasn’t as visible then but continued ignorance made it quite obvious. 

My game is currently crashing as well. I have spent days trying to figure out why sims 4 is suddenly overloading my GPU, as it was fine before the recent updates. I am having to play on laptop mode when before I could play on Ultra w/ laptop mode off. Still trying a combination of things hoping to fix this...

Hello, I just did a test and I realize that my NVIDIA rtx 2080 ti graphics card crashes when I play the sims 4 ... Can anyone help me? Before it worked. What can I do? I obviously specify that everything is up to date.

I've had the same issue since the September update. I've tried the 50/50 method with my CC, I've tried new saves with no CC, I've adjusted my gaming graphics from ultra to high and the game still crashes after about 5-10 minutes. I posed on another forum about this issue before and they recommended that I unselect the DirectX9, which I did and it made no difference. I'm relatively new to gaming PCs but I went into the device manager on my computer and it states that my display drivers are up to date. I'm at a loss for what to do next. I attached my most recent dxdiag. Any help is appreciated! TYIA. 

so I put the sims 4 on my desktop and when I launch the game it doesn't show mods and I did it exactly how it was said. what am I doing wrong?

I tried this solution for myself, as my game kept crashing, but now I can't recover any of my saved games since I have moved the Sims 4 folder out of the EA document. What do I do??

ad0ugan​  Put the saves in the new Sims 4 folder the game has created.
