Crashing Issue - Since 12th of May Update

I’ve been having this issue for a few weeks now ever since the 12th of May update ( it has been updated again to the current version but still crashing), so I’ve tried every fix I’ve seen online and am starting to give up and need help. The crashing happens after 30-60 minutes of gameplay, there is nothing that pops up after crashing for the ea app it just shuts it down completely, I’ve been playing since release and have multiple packs and over 5000 hours so I’ve had experience with issues in the past but this one has been difficult to find the fix, I am a mod user but this is not a mod issue as I will explain below -  I’ve tried these ways to fix it so far:

First Time, I did small fixes I went in and removed my mods completely and made sure my graphic drivers were completely up to date but the crashing was still happening. Second Time, I repaired the game in ea but it didn’t work. Third Time, I removed the sims 4 folder and had it regenerate without my mods in it as well and still didn’t work. Fourth Time, I completely uninstalled the game and saved my mods and saves folder on my hard drive and still didn’t work for me. Fifth Time, then I got a bit frustrated and I completely reset my computer and thinking it might have been a computer system error and still after redownloading a second time it didn’t work- also didn’t have any mods in at all they were still on my hardrive Sixth Time, this time I had read online that people were uninstalling their graphics drivers and re-installing them to help with crashing, still didn’t work…

Any help would be very much appreciated,

thank you

  • xellenevex  A dxdiag is always appreciated.  Yours doesn't list any Sims 4 errors though, or anything else that would clearly explain the issue.  Since it does show a number of Windows errors, please run a couple of basic checks on your system files:

    • Click Windows key-X and select "Powershell (Administrator)" or "Windows Terminal (Administrator)" , whichever you see
    • In the window that appears, copy and paste "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" without quotes, and enter
    • The system will take a little while to validate; if it throws an error, please list it
    • Otherwise, copy and paste "sfc /scannow" without quotes into the window, and enter
    • Post the message you receive

Restart your computer, open Windows Settings > Update & Security, click the box to check for updates, and if any install, restart again afterwards.

Try playing again, and if you get another crash, try while offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

If that doesn't help either, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Click Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash (offline).  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
