I disabled OneDrive and now my game is using the Public folders (c:/users/public/documents/). All my files are saved to c:/users/my username/documents/Ea. Is there a way to get the file path to my username or do I have to use the public docs now? I tried deleting the public docs but it just recreated when I launched the sims again.
@beccabbyz There's definitely a way to fix this. First though, please post the file path Windows is using for Documents. Search Windows for Command Prompt, open it, and enter this command:
reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"
Then post the result.

Here's the file path C:\Users\Public\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
results:
Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22621.2134]

@beccabbyz The problem is that Windows is still using the Documents folder in OneDrive, but that folder isn't accessible. So Sims 4 uses the Public Documents folder instead. The fix is to change the appropriate variable within your computer's registry, as described here:
You'll set the Personal value (this is Documents) to this:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents
as described in the guide. Then Sims 4 should use that folder too.
