I uninstalled The Sims 4 a long time ago and reinstalled it an hour ago. Every time I try to open the game through Steam, it tells me that Sims 4 is already running. I tried looking for the electronic arts folder on my computer, but it doesn't seem to be in my documents. I have tried ending the tasks, restarting my computer, and even uninstalling and reinstalling the game and still haven't been able to solve the issue. I would appreciate some help.

You could also try a repair install of Windows, as desribed here:

This process wouldn't delete your data, but if you get to step 14 and are NOT asked to keep personal files and apps, back out and start over.
