For the last week I have repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled The SIms 4 along with all DLCs multiple times and it still won't launch. I've tried downloading just the base game, no DLCs and tried to launch - still showing the same error: 'Unable to start: Cannot start because game data is missing or damaged. If you have Mods installed please remove them and try again. If not, please repair or reinstall the game via Origin. [de4ee14f:29f00e76:00000000:4b0d852b]'
There are no mods on my PC and have absolutely no idea how to fix this. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app which also has not worked. I bought new packs in the sale and I haven't been able to try them out yet. I am currently installing the base game via Steam to see if that works and launches, otherwise I'm going to lose my mind.
Just so no one else wastes their time, running the game through Steam has not worked
I honestly think it has something to do with EA app itself. So even if you launch through steam it opens the EA app to launch the game though it. Im in the process of reinstalling Sims after uninstalling n the app keeps glitching while its installing packs. Ive never seen it glitch (stop responding) like this before. Ive also been looking through the threads n it looks like a lot of people are having issues with the new game pack. Its beyond annoying. I was looking forward to playing on my day off. Just hope they fix it soon.
Ok so got sims reinstalled it started up fine but as soon as I put the mods folder in I get the message again so Ill have to figure that out now. So if that helps anyone then great. Now i got to figure out if its mods in general or a specific one.
