@MasonMarie1 At the moment, this error typically means that someone's antivirus software is blocking Sims 4. So please add an exception for TS4_DX9_x64.exe, the new executable for the default DirectX 9 version of the game. (TS4_x64.exe now runs the DirectX 11 version.) If that doesn't help, try excluding the entire Bin folder.
how do i do that i have a Lenovo laptop with windows.

@MasonMarie1 What antivirus do you use? Whatever the program, you should be able to find documentation on the publisher's website. Or if you use Windows Defender, or Avast or AVG, you can follow these instructions:

@MasonMarie1 No, where your game is installed shouldn't matter. What antivirus do you use, and did you specifically set an exception for TS4_DX9_x64.exe? What about if you exempt the entire Bin folder?
