Deleting Cache Files

Hello,

I was thinking about deleting my The Sims 4 cache files recently but when I look at instructions how to do it I see that I need to delete everything in my cache folder except FileCache. But the thing is when I go to my cache folder I see no FileCache in there. Only pictures and files that end with .dat. And also how about cachestr folder? Is it safe to delete anything in there? Because I only see spotlight_en-us.package here. Is it safe to delete? And also how about onlinethumbnailcache folder? I play with Online Access Feature on and I always play with internet.

So could answer all these questions and provide me step by step instructions how to delete The Sims 4 cache files? Thank you.

Sincerely

Paulius

    Hey there,

Glad to hear that was helpful! That said, this thread is quite old and is being locked here to make sure info provided or reported is relevant to the current version of the game.

Feel free to create a new thread if there's a subject you're wanting to discuss that doesn't have a more recent topic, thanks!

  • It's possible that that file is no longer there. There have been chances made over time.

    Just ignore that part.

onlinethumbnailcache should also be safe to delete

You can always make a backup of your folder and then delete the files from your original. If you then have problems or missing anything, move them back
