EA app keeps opening when trying to launch the sims 4

Hello, 

I am trying to launch TS4 both through Steam and EA and every time it says preparing game then stops and opens EA. I tried moving the sims 4 folder out of the documents and electronic arts folder onto my desktop and I still ran into the same problem. I moved the sims 4 folder back to its regular place in the documents and electronic arts folder. I then repaired the EA app, and that didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app and that didn't work either. Now my previous Sims 4 folder is gone with all my game progress seemingly lost and replaced with an empty Sims 4 folder, and the game still won't launch. 

What can I do from here?
