Error: Can't run The Sims 4 with the video card in this system
So I got a new laptop recently and have been trying to play the sims on it, but I keep getting the error:
"Can't run The Sims 4 with the video card in this system. Please check that the video card meets the minimum specifications and that the latest video drivers are installed.
[0e6d1221:1df4e8dc:80010000:00000000]"
I have a dual card system and have already ensured it's running on the NVIDIA card through the control panel but this didn't help. I've also tried removing CC and mods, repairing the game etc. My drivers are also all up to date.
The only thing that seems to be working so far is adding the '-w' command line to run the game in windowed mode, but I'd like a more permanent solution.
TIA!
@LKM747 As an experiment, try setting your screen's refresh rate to 120 or 144 Hz. While it shouldn't be necessary, I've seen occasional issues with Sims 4 and high refresh rates. Right-click on your desktop and select Display Settings > Advanced, and you should see the option to switch refresh rates. Restart your computer afterwards and before trying to play.
If that doesn't help, please do a clean uninstall of the Nvidia graphics driver and install the (slightly older) driver offered by Asus for your computer. Here's how to clean uninstall:
You can find the Asus-provided driver (dated April 19) here:

If you're asked, choose G513RW as the BIOS model name.
