appgirl297 The Sims 4 errors in your dxdiag are all of a type that's somewhat generic but can be related to the graphics driver. This type can also be caused by a bad mod or a corrupt household, among other things, so that's not definitive. But since you don't use mods or custom content, and replacing a fully-updated graphics driver is a bit of a process, please test a new save in a new user folder.
Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how build mode works.
Please don't download anything from the Gallery. Just start with a blank or default EA-made lot and build from there. You can save your work and transfer it to your main save later if you want, so it's not a complete waste of time.
If you get another crash, please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the graphics driver, as described here:
However, instead of reinstalling the newest driver from Nvidia, try the one from mid-March, which seems to have been stable in that Nvidia didn't update it for a month or so. It's easy to update from there, but installing the newest driver and reverting later would require another clean uninstall. You can find older drivers here:

Choose Game Ready Driver as the Download Type to go back further.
