Furniture, etc vanished after update.
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.55.105.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Only the base game and the free Holiday Stuff pack
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Load the game with CC enabled. (See description for details)
What happens when the bug occurs? After today's update, loading the game with CC enabled means everything disappears. Doors, furniture, almost everything except the walls and windows. (I am not sure why a couple random carpets and a single violin were spared; that's beyond me.) Just to be super clear: this doesn't mean only CC vanishes - I hardly have any. The pre-made houses that came with the base game are affected regardless of whether I've played them before or not. The BFF Sims suddenly can't get in or out of their now-empty house because the door has disappeared. 1. Disabling all custom content: This seems to load things all right, but the second I enable it again, everything vanishes again. While I have very little CC and it's technically possible to play without it, I don't want to mess up any save files for good, so guess I'll just wait for it to be fixed...? 2. I have repaired the game through Origin; it didn't fix anything. 3. Everything worked fine yesterday afternoon, so it definitely seems to be related to the update. Is there some announcement or trick I've missed? Thanks!
What do you expect to see? All my Sims' houses, furnished and complete.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The latest update.
This is what you see upon loading. Picked this lot because there's nothing custom in it (in fact hey, now there's nothing in it at all...!)
- @cathteg If it's an issue caused by outdated CC or mods, you're going to have to find out which ones are causing it and seek out updated versions of those. EA doesn't fix issues caused by CC or mods.
Use the 50/50 method to find out which CC is giving you problems – that is, take half of it out and if you don't have any issues, try the other half. Eventually you get it down to exactly which ones are the cause, then you can go ask the people who made it for a fix.
If it's a CC or mods problem, it probably isn't just you having the issues and the CC or mod creator may have made an updated version.
