Game add ons say installed, but do not show up in game play.

Everything worked fine until the new EA app. I bought some new game content and downloaded them through the app. The said they are installed, but do not show up in game. I tried uninstalling the game and then reinstalling, and now all my purchased packs do no show up in game even though they are saying they are downloaded. I talked to the ea help chat twice an no one knew how to help. They said my packs might be hidden and to right click in the library to get to a window to check to see if they are hidden. Im not even able to right click in anything to get to that. Im so frustrated and am needed help. Thanks!

  • @Hillarybopeep  Please try clearing the EA App's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

and repairing the game: open your game library, hover over the Sims 4 icon, click the three dots, and select Repair.

If that doesn't help, do you own any content through Steam, and do you play through Steam or through the EA App?  Do you have the CAS Demo installed?  Please also list the packs that aren't showing up, or at least some of them.

    Hi,

I'm having exactly the same issue. I pre-ordered the Growing Together Pack and when it came out, my PC automatically switched me from Origin to the EA app and I've had nothing but issues since.

I loaded The Sims 4 to check out the Growing Together Pack and it said it was installed on the EA app but in game it said I didn't own the content in buy mode and on the main menu it says "download to use".

I've tried uninstalling The Sims completely, doing an app recovery, clearing the cache, updating the app, reinstalling The Sims and repairing it and since doing this, I'm now having an issue with all of my other packs/add-ons. I was given the option to download them again which I did and the EA app says they're installed but in game on the main menu it says "restart to use" against all the packs except for Growing Together where it still says "download to use" and in build mode it says I don't own the content.

As a result of this, I currently only have access to the base game.

I won't list all the packs/add ons that are missing as there are too many but I own every single Sims 4 Pack, Stuff Pack and Kit so it's literally all of them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is incredibly frustrating. I just want to enjoy the new pack along with all the others I had before. I've not been able to play with the new pack yet and it came out over a week ago now ☹️

    Thanks in advance!

  • When I tried to download Growing Together, it took a few seconds and then it said it was installed. I launched the game and the game didn't recognize it. So I tried again and again and again and it didn't work. In an attempt to get it to show up, I uninstalled the Sims 4 and reinstalled it, and after doing that none of my packs showed up in the game. I tried everything and it was nearly 5 days before I was able to play Growing Together for the first time.

It really stressed me out and I tried everything. I saw a post about Sims 4 CAS Demo clashing and I deleted CAS straight away; I deleted it from task manager too. EA also solved my problem so I think it was a combination of things. I uninstalled the Sims 4 and all of the packs, and installed them again. I realized that when I first installed the packs before deleting CAS, it took a few seconds to install each pack (in my mind I was like that's really speedy) but it didn't download properly which is why they didn't show up in game. After deleting CAS, and re-installing everything, the packs downloaded in a realistic timeframe and they finally showed in game. I'm now able to play with Growing Together and my other packs. Before feeling discouraged, please try this. If it still doesn't work, either reach out to the EA support team, or contact me. I don't work for EA, but I don't mind trying to help you get a solution.

This is the first time I've heard about the CAS situation but I'm willing to try anything at this point - how do you do that please?

    Thank you!

I've uninstalled it now - I had myself convinced it was a pack for a second but I completely forgot that when The Sims 4 base game came out, the create a sim demo was it's own thing lol

I'm reinstalling The Sims now so I'll let you know how I get on.

Thank you for the help and speedy replies everyone 🙂

    **UPDATE - FULLY WORKING NOW!**

So the fix that I've found works, thanks to @G0ld3nG0dd3ss is uninstalling CAS Demo from my PC, uninstalling the Sims 4 then reinstalling The Sims 4 and repairing it. Doing this seems to have worked and I now have all my add-ons back, plus the long awaited Growing Together pack 🙂.

Thanks again to everyone that helped.
