Hi, thanks for your reply.
It was suggested earlier in this thread that I run a Microsoft Memory Diagnostics test, which I did (twice) and the results confirmed no error found.
What may have caused the hardware error you suggest..?
Would it be any use for me to take the laptop to a computer-repair place, do you think? It is only a few weeks old, but no matter what I’ve tried, I cannot get it to play TS4 even for a few minutes without crashing.

You can also try running a complete scan on your Drives to see if any of those fail.(you may only have one drive)
A repair shop should be able to run more comprehensive tests of your hardware. It will cost you though so ask for an estimate before committing.
