I'm having the same problem.
I started playing this month after not playing for year, and things were going really well, till the last couple days after an update, when it keeps crashing on opening. I have repaired, reinstalled my graphics driver and nothing is working. Now it just wont get past the loading screen no matter how many times I reboot.
I have a 1TB hard drive with heaps of space.
It was all going normal for me until I decided to update it for Businesses and Hobbies. Now it just won't load past the loading screen. At first it opened, then when I decided to edit the graphics, and apply the changes, it just crashed and never opened normally again. I didn't have any mods in as I had taken them out for the update.
