game keeps crashing when raising or lowering platforms/height in build mode

voguelamb​  I'm glad that helped, but the game should be using the Nvidia GPU automatically.  Were you playing on battery rather than plugging in the laptop?

Your dxdiag does show that the game was crashing because the AMD graphics driver was crashing, so it makes perfect sense that forcing the game to use the Nvidia card fixed it.
