BajanK That's definitely good news. I haven't heard anything problematic about the previous driver, but that doesn't mean it was working perfectly in all cases.
I'll have to look at the log more closely, but on first inspection, there are two important details. One is that your RAM use is high (6 GB) even at the beginning of the log, when you'd have just restarted and not yet opened any other apps. That suggests you have a number of background apps running that you probably don't need. So I'd check the Task Manager's Startup list and disable anything that's set to start with Windows that doesn't actually need to be running all the time.
The other point is that the CPU is mostly running at reasonable temperatures but is seeing occasional spikes, often enough for thermal throttling to kick in. These spikes are usually temporary and may correspond to when something is loading, when the CPU would presumably try to accomplish that task as quickly as possible. The good news is that the temps quickly drop back into the safe range, so this is likely not a case of inadequate cooling overall.
Still, you might benefit from a cooling pad or fan. If you don't want to spend money right now, elevate the laptop when playing and point a desk or floor fan at the bottom of the chassis. If it helps, you can decide whether it's worth buying something more convenient.
For the game window going black and booting you back to the home screen, does this happen if you play in windowed or "windowed fullscreen" (borderless) mode? It shouldn't happen at all, but I'm curious.
