Game not launching on Steam.

Hadn’t touched Sims in years but a few days ago I got struck by divine degeneracy and decided it was finally time to return. I was fully prepared to create the most unholy civilization known to mankind. Installed the game at lightspeed, dopamine receptors firing, ready to play.

Except your game wouldn’t even launch.

Not crashed.
Not froze.
Not “loading slowly.”

It just refuses to exist.

I click Play on Steam.
EA App crawls out of the abyss pretending to function.
“Launching game :)”
CPU spikes for 0.4 seconds.
Then absolutely nothing happens and the Steam button turns green again like it’s smugly telling me:

“Nice try. Run it back.”

I genuinely think this launcher was engineered by spiteful goblins. The EA App is not software. It’s digital asbestos. Calling it an “app” implies it performs a task other than harvesting human suffering.

I tried EVERYTHING.

    - Reinstalled the game

     - Verified integrity

     -  Disabled EA Background Service garbage

     - Deleted every Sims-related file off my PC

      - Checked for mods (there were none because unlike half your playerbase I’m not downloading 700GB of furniture packs)

Still nothing.
No error message.
No crash log.
No warning.
No black screen.
Just silent failure like the game itself is too embarrassed to be associated with EA infrastructure.

And the worst part is the fake-out launch sequence. It PRETENDS it’s about to work. The launcher lights up, Steam says “Launching,” and for one brief glorious moment you think:

“Maybe the session survives.”

Then it instantly folds in on itself like a dying Soviet satellite.

Meanwhile every other game on my PC works flawlessly. AAA games. Modded games. Emulators. Actual unstable garbage held together with community patches from 2009. All functional.

But Sims? A franchise with the technological complexity of boiling pasta? Impossible apparently.

Fix your broken slop before the remaining 14 Sims players finally achieve sentience and escape.

Just in case it's not clear, I don't work for EA.  So while I'm happy to try to help, please don't direct any of the editorial stuff at me.
